Rolling Stock Galllery

In the shops of the Elgin County Railway Museum building, our collection of rolling stock including steam, diesel, and electric locomotives, cabooses, baggage cars, passenger cars, motor and hand cars, velocipedes, and more is on display.

Currently, two pieces of rolling stock are accessible to visitors. These include London & Port Stanley Railway (L&PS) Car 14, where visitors can step inside and experience the space as it would have been used in service, and the Grand Trunk Western caboose, which once served as both a living and working space for crew members, allowing them to inspect cars and monitor trains during travel.

The shops also house the Agent’s Office diorama, the building’s original Supervisor’s Office, and many distinctive architectural features, from the stepped roof construction to the original crane hooks once used to lift locomotives during maintenance.

The museum is currently closed for essential building repairs.
Updates will be shared as available.
